In lieu of a true update for last week’s activities, I’m doing a brief, abridged recap:

Yesterday I got to ride. In the woods. With a group of women. That coordinated via facebook, texts and voicemails beginning at 9pm on Saturday night. That is what I love about this community. As I was dressing for the second cold ride of the weekend, I couldn’t help but notice the pile of ride-trash accumulating in my vehicle. I keep thinking it will be the last time I’ll need hand/toe warmers….

There is much to mention from last week. Indoor spin continued. Our elite race team spent the weekend training together in Tennessee in preparation for the start of their race season in two weeks at Valley of the Sun. Dessa completed a (mostly) indoor century ride on Sunday to ensure her inclusion in the Century of the Month club for 2009. I had a phone call with Dave Poole of Aerocat this morning. As we were wrapping things up, Dave said something like, “So you really ride in this weather down there, huh?” I told him we do. Filled him in on Frostbike. Detailed Sunday’s snowy conditions and Saturday’s well-below freezing temperatures and winds. Encouraged him to check out Velodrama for blog entry and photographic evidence. “Wow, you ladies are tough,” he said. “We are tough,” I replied.
