Why I Race

We’re on the cusp of racing season so I’m going to do a bit of navel-gazing about why I race bicycles.

1. I primarily race because it gives me an excuse to train, which I love to do. Training, in turn, allows me to not feel so bad about the entire bag of pork rinds I ate today.
2. Racing allows me to take unpaid vacation days to travel to exciting destinations such as Springfield, MO, Fayetteville, AL, and Burlington, IA.

Back to work

I’m back at work today and for our Monday morning meeting I gave my what will become weekly Team Revolution Race Team announcement. Scott, manager of the office here in STL, casually asked: “Didn’t you guys have a race or something this weekend?”

“Training. 175 miles. Up and down 3 mountains. 100 miles on Saturday. Up and down, from both sides; one mountain on Sunday to make 75 miles.”

Product Review: Race Day DVD

This past winter we had multiple indoor sessions with the club. Now that winter’s over we’re under the assumption you can ride outside all the time. We know we’re not that lucky. Here’s a review for a great indoor alternative:
