Meet Louise

Note: The elite team’s roster includes several familiar faces. We wanted to use this opportunity to introduce you to a new one before we kick-off the season in earnest on Friday. Check out the Featuring section (with Kate’s wonderful Q&A) to read interviews with our club members.

Louise Turner: 27 year old from Bloomington, IN. Well, actually I am from England but have been in Bloomington for the last 6 years. I am currently working on my PhD in Exercise Physiology at Indiana University. I started riding bikes a couple of years ago, primarily being dragged around on long rides by someone’s wheel. I guess somewhere along the way I got addicted to riding bicycles and everything else related to them. This will be my second year of racing and I am really excited about riding with Team Revolution for 2009.

Off the bike you will probably find me drinking Tea (only hot tea though, and more than likely a nice cup of earl grey with milk… as this is the only way to drink it), watching Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, the Real House Wives of OC/NY/Atlanta or anything on HGTV (slightly obsessed). Another British trait of mine is of course ‘sarcasm’ so apologies in advance for that. I am looking forward to meeting you all, and I am delighted to be a part of Team Rev.

First bike?
Dolce (yes, the Specialized kind). I’m not sure how this bike kept going for so many miles. I still have it.

Personal cycling goals?
Faster…stronger…better

How did you find Team Rev?
Last year whilst racing.

Music you listen to when stuck on the trainer?
I listen to anything (LOUD) that will distract me from noticing each pedal stroke. I was just introduced to the Kings of Leon album, so that is probably under the top 10 on my ipod.

Biggest on the bike accomplishment?
There are so many. Every time I ride I achieve something (mostly tired/sore legs). Recently, the biggest accomplishment has to be the Team Rev training trip to Chattanooga, TN and in particular “Lookout Mountain.” That thing was a beast.

Favorite quotation?
“Everyone can dream….but not everyone dares to live the dream”

Favorite guilty pleasure?
Cinnamon scones or banana nut muffins

Last thing you cooked?
Jambalaya

Morning or night?
Morning

How do you spend your Sunday afternoons?
In spandex
